What is Fractional Radio-frequency?

Fractional Radio-frequency is a unique skin treatment utilizing bipolar radio-frequency energy to rejuvenate photo-damaged and wrinkled skin. The volumetric deep heating of the dermis stimulates production of collagen which improves the texture and tightens the skin. It also reduces pigmentation of the top layer of the skin.

How does Fractional Radio-frequency work?

The hand piece of the Fractional Radio-frequency device contains a tip which emits Bipolar Radio-frequency currents to the treated areas.

fractionThese currents send microscopic columns of energy through the surface of the skin into the deeper layer (dermis). This is further converted to heat energy which causes microscopic injuries to the treated zones in the dermis, leaving healthy skin around for rapid healing and stimulation of new collagen growth. As a result, it reduces wrinkles, improves skin texture and gives skin a new lease of life.

  • Acne vulgaris.
  • To diminish the appearance of acne rosacea.
  • To elevate and resurface the delicate skin around the eyes.
  • For long-term collagen stimulation and regeneration for lasting results with minimal maintenance.

Not only does this system deliver RF energy deeply, it offers a quick recovery with little pain and no downtime. Treatments are tailored to individual needs and multiple treatments with 4 to 6 weekly intervals are recommended for desired results.

How do we prepare for and what do we expect during this procedure?

Just like every procedure that has the potential to cause inflammation, to reduce the chances of post procedure darkening especially in skin of colour, we commence the use of sun protection and hypo-pigmenting creams 2 weeks prior.

During the procedure we use topical anaesthetics to minimize pain, making it as comfortable for the patient as possible.

What are the side effects?

With mild treatments, you should feel no pain after the procedure, however if deeper treatments are required, a topical anaesthetic will be provided to minimise pain. Mild redness and tiny dots may occur but usually resolves in 3 to 5 days.
