Contrary to what most people think, saggy big breasts alone don’t typically cause back pains. People with saggy big breasts who get back pains mostly do so as a result of other underlying conditions, not as a result of the big breasts only.
Conditions such as;
- Chronic bad posture (Hunched shoulders, etc)
- Osteoporosis
- Irritation of spinal nerves through disc herniation or bulging
- Obesity
- Injury or overexertion of the muscles or bones in the back
Big breasts can exacerbate any of these already existing conditions; worsening of bad posture, adding additional stress to pulled muscles and making it harder for injured discs to heal.
The Exception….
In some cases, breasts could be the primary cause of back pain. This typically happens when a relatively small person has disproportionately large breasts. For this, a breast reduction is recommended and this can also be done with a breast lift surgery to further improve balance.
Ironically, some people develop back pains following breast augmentation surgeries. Over time, this pain usually fades as the body adjusts to the new size however, when pain persists breast reduction may be required.
Having a breast reduction surgery significantly reduces the back pain and discomfort aggravated by long term gravitational pull of big saggy breasts.
Is Breast Lift Surgery Permanent?
Breast lift surgery may not be permanent. As you age, your skin will naturally become less elastic and some sagging might occur especially in larger and heavier breasts. However, women with smaller sagging breasts will likely have longer-lasting results after breast lift surgery.
Other factors that could contribute to subsequent sagging are; pregnancy, weight gain and loss. Therefore it is advisable to do such procedures after completion of childbirth.
